I've missed you Blue...

Gosh I haven't worked with blue for such a long time, what joy.

I know Jenni is partial to a bit of Indigo, so this piece of fabric I dyed at collage many years ago whilst studying for my City & Guilds, was the perfect choice. Free cut and machine pieced.

The organza has a tinge of green which I emphasised with a smear of florescent paint over the raised areas of the painted Tyvek and picking up the green once again with french knots. I intended to free motion quilt this piece, but hand quilting seemed to suit it better.

Thanks for reading, stay safe.

Colour Spectrum...

I started by checking the colour spectrum that fitted the criteria. Then I painted some fibres, material and a map. And gathered lace and threads.

I layered and machine stitched everything together and finished with one of my embroidered birds. Enjoyed every moment.
