Exhibition Review and a little extra...

It was with a feeling of sadness that I left my final day of stewarding our exhibition at Bude Castle last week. Sad, because ‘the show’ had come to an end.
Our various pieces of work for The Written Word had been stored away for 18months, due to the outbreak of the Covid virus. But now we had finally managed to show them at both The Poly in Falmouth in late March, and for three weeks of May at the Blanchminster Gallery in Bude Castle.
At both venues we were made most welcome, and as stewards we have all had some really uplifting comments and conversations with some lovely people. Sometimes people have wandered in, just to see what was on, and hadn’t realised that ‘textiles’ could be so artistic. Others have kindly come to see our work because they have been before or follow our blog/Facebook page etc.
But either way, it is not simply a matter of selling a piece that gives you the real buzz, it is hearing how others appreciate your work, and we truly feel lucky to receive this validation of our efforts.

We will be having some down time and play time now, exploring techniques and sharing cake, and then our hands will start to itch to create another group of interconnected pieces, of that I have no doubt!
Thank you for reading, and indeed visiting if you did.

Our dear friend Roger, who tirelessly photographs all our exhibitions has kindly compiled a website for us, gathering all our past and present work together. Our warmest thanks for his generosity. Please view in the link below, enjoy.
