Textile Postcard Challenge...

We started the New Year off with a jolly at the local eatery last week. Before we finished for the Christmas break Rosemary set us a secret Santa challenge, to create a textile postcard with the theme  'From the East'.

Our next meeting isn't until January, so to keep us on track we've chosen our next theme in advance, which is, 'Containment' ...(that's something for the old grey matter to ponder on, perhaps after a little Christmas sherry).

On behalf of all the Textile Maids, thanks for sticking with us throughout the year, we're really looking forward to an exciting exhibition year.

MARGARET

Yesterday was our first meeting since one of our most gentle and generous members, Margaret Garrood, pass away on the 6th September 2017 following a short but bravely fought illness. We are all shocked and saddened at the sudden loss of a good friend. Margaret quietly joined us after our first exhibition in 2014, fitting in so well and willingly sharing her knowledgeable and varied skills. We will all miss her presence and friendship and seeing her wonderful work at our meetings.

Picnic Jolly...

As promised from our last post, here are a few snaps of our picnic at the beautiful Lanhydrock House...

A rather eclectic mix of snaps, but who can resist beautiful old doors or the textures in a gnarled tree and because she couldn't make it to our picnic...a holy well especially for Chris.
